Swede Dish Slow Cooker Spiral Ham

Description

Tender, juicy ham slow-cooked in a warm Nordic-inspired glaze of honey, orange, and cardamom. Effortless, fragrant, and perfectly aligned with your Easter menu.

Ingredients

Cooking Mode Disabled

Optional aromatics (highly recommended)

Instructions

Place ham in crockpot

  1. Flat side down if possible.

Make glaze

  1. In a small saucepan combine:
  2. honey
  3. orange juice
  4. Dijon
  5. cardamom
  6. cinnamon
  7. cloves
  8. butter
  9. Simmer 2–3 minutes until combined.

Pour + layer

  1. Pour glaze over ham.
  2. Add:
  3. orange slices
  4. herbs
  5. Let it fall between slices

Cook

  1. LOW for 3–4 hours
  2. OR
  3. HIGH for 2–2.5 hours
  4. Already cooked → just heating + flavoring

Baste (optional but nice)

  1. Spoon juices over once or twice.

Finish (important Swede Dish touch)

  1. Before serving:
  2. spoon glaze over slices
  3. sprinkle:
  4. fresh dill OR thyme
  5. tiny lemon zest

Optional “Sticky Finish” (if you want glossy)

  1. Transfer to baking dish:
  2. broil 3–5 minutes with glaze
  3. (This is optional—crockpot alone is great)
