Dragon Eggs
Description
Marbled Hard-Boiled Eggs with Mustard-Herb Yogurt Filling. A whimsical, Swedish-inspired party favorite—perfect for a Halloween fika, fantasy feast, or magical smörgåsboard.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cups ½ water
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
- Red + blue = violet/purple
- Green = eerie swampy hue
- Red = blood-crackled effect
- 6 Yolks eggs
- ¼ cup plain yogurt or Skyr
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp chopped dill or chives
- Salt and pepper to taste
- pinch of horseradish (Optional)

- 1 Place eggs in a pot, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Turn off heat, cover, and let sit for 12 minutes. Cool in an ice bath.2. Crack Gently

In a small bowl, mix 1½ cups water with vinegar and a few drops of food coloring. Submerge cracked eggs in the colored water and chill for 4–8 hours or overnight for deeper tones.4. Peel & Reveal- 4
Carefully peel to unveil eerie, veined patterns like dragon scales!5. Optional Filling- 5
Slice eggs in half and scoop yolks into a bowl. Mix with yogurt, mustard, herbs, and seasonings. Pipe or spoon into whites.6. Garnish- 6

Marbled eggs (without filling) keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add the filling just before serving for best texture.
