Prep & Preheat:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make Dough:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, flour, cardamom, salt, and toasted nuts. Mix gently until combined into a soft dough.

Form Cookies:

  1. Roll dough into small balls (1-inch size) and place on prepared baking sheet.

Bake:

  1. Bake for 14–16 minutes, or until set and slightly golden around edges.

Dust & Cool:

  1. Let cookies cool slightly (5 minutes), then roll gently in additional powdered sugar to create a “snowball” effect.

Note

Swede Dish Notes:

Serve on a festive tray with a sprinkle of extra cardamom or pair with Swedish hot chocolate for a cozy fika moment.
