It’s hearty yet balanced—perfect for a cozy fall or winter meal that embodies Swede Dish’s seasonal wellness philosophy. Serve with roasted root vegetables, braised red cabbage, or a simple barley salad for a full plate.
Ingredients
For the Creamy Mustard Sauce:
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and half the allspice.
-
In a large oven-safe skillet, sear pork chops in olive oil or butter, 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
-
Add apples and onions to the skillet. Sprinkle with remaining allspice and thyme, tossing to coat. Cook 5 minutes until softened.
-
Return pork chops to the pan. Transfer to the oven and roast for 10–12 minutes, until pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
-
Remove pork and apples to a plate. Place skillet back on stove over medium heat.
-
Make the sauce: Add broth, scraping up browned bits. Stir in cream, both mustards, and vinegar. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Serve: Plate pork chops with roasted apples and onions, spoon sauce over top, and garnish with extra thyme.
